Telegram and WhatsApp send events that have no real equivalent on IRC (screenshot detected, message pinned, missed call, security code changed...). Yoake presents them as mIRC-style notices - same colors, same place in the interface - instead of inventing a separate notification system.
Every event is printed in the window where it happens (the relevant channel/chat, if known) and is always repeated in the corresponding network's Status too - so you get both the context (in the channel) and a centralized log (in Status), the way real mIRC does with server messages.
$noticetype)| Value | Meaning | Network |
|---|---|---|
screenshot | Someone took a screenshot of the chat. | Telegram |
pin | Someone pinned a message. | Telegram |
historyclear | Someone cleared the history. | Telegram |
missedcall | Missed call (only genuinely missed ones, not completed/declined). | Telegram and WhatsApp |
securitycode | A contact's end-to-end security code changed (e.g. they reinstalled WhatsApp). | |
service | Official service message (e.g. from Telegram itself). | Telegram |
They all go through the on notice event (see Scripting): you can change
their text, filter by type, or suppress them entirely with haltdef.
on notice {
if ($noticetype == missedcall) haltdef
if ($noticetype == screenshot) echo ⚠️ Watch out, $nick took a screenshot!
}
Besides the notices above, every network's Status also shows enriched connection information (data center/2FA/active sessions for Telegram, LID/platform/username for WhatsApp) - see Connecting to Telegram, WhatsApp and IRC for the full list.
on notice script handles both networks, use $network if
you need to tell them apart.
